Originals Commission work in Oil and Watercolor
Winter is here and I love all the snow. No, I am not out painting in it, but I am taking a lot of photos and working on compositions for snow scenes. Finally painted the bare maple tree and the white pine in the neighbors yard, that I have been wanting to paint for a long time. I see it out my kitchen window all the time and keep thinking there is a painting there that I need to do sometime. Always nicer to work from life.
I bought a bunch of winter greens before Christmas and put them in a still life with a flo blue plate, my mother's Christmas cactus, and even an orange that my cousin sent me from Florida. This is a great time of year to work on still lifes. The sky light helps with the lighting and my CD player gives me the atmosphere for painting. What could be better?
My latest completed painting is this neat interior of three guys enjoying lunch at a restaurant in Ann Arbor. I loved the light coming through the window and the shadows it cast on the floor. It looks like a good place to pass the time on these cold winter days.
